The study of the effects of Mushrooms on the body and mind is back not only in the lives of users, but the labs of major universities and hospitals as well.  These magical wonders are back for clinical testing and I have but one question.  Where do I sign up?

The effects as I’ve seen have lasting impressions on thought.  They may not still be chemically affecting me, but the jaw dropping and threshold pushing thoughts provoked by a mushroom trip are enough to change ones perception on life and all that it encompasses.  More on perception later…

There is an initiative in the works that could end up on the November ballot that allows for marijuana to be sold to anyone, and anywhere that already sells alcohol. Its being called The Inalienable Rights Enforcement Initiative. From the full text of the measure:
This initiative will amend the Constitution of California to defend and safeguard the inalienable rights of the People against infringement by governments and corporations, providing for the lawful growth, sale, and possession of marijuana. Marijuana will be taxed through a system of stamps and licenses–a $5 stamp will be required for the sale of an eighth ounce of marijuana and a $50 annual license will be required for the growth of one marijuana plant. To protect participants and encourage participation in the system, such licenses and stamps will be available anonymously in stores where marijuana is sold.
So instead of getting some quack doctor to give you a prescription for $100 because of your supposed “anxiety” or alleged “insomnia”, you will just pay an extra tax each time you buy yourself another 8th.

Alex Grey, the most prolific artist in the past 200 years, and psychedelic drugs leader from the 70’s, is suing fellow artist Juan Pablo Fernandez for reselling his artwork. This is an interesting event for Grey since he is fairly open about the use of his artwork, but has had enough of the reselling of his lifeswork online. In parallel, Grey’s artwork is used extensively by the band TOOL, who actually funds legal experts to quash it’s fans from using any of its art in any form.

Tweaky’s Opinion: 6 years between albums… stopping fans from collecting bootleg material. Hey boys, you need to feed the beast. As a long time TOOL fan, I refuse to be part of the TOOL ARMY fan club. Why? You must sign an agreement stating you will not share or posses bootleg or copywrited material. I refuse. I will, of sound mind, collect every piece of unauthorized or authorized material that quiets my inner burning for the art. I will not sell or distribute, but I will collect. Whew, I’ve said my piece.

Hmmm… is this really news? It’s like a headline that reads “mammal breathes air, and lives another day”. Are we really surprised that Billionaires have cocaine warehouses? or hookers? What the hell would you do with your money? Give it to the poor? PA LEZE

SUNDAY, June 1 (HealthDay News) — Drugs used widely to treat anemia in cancer patients may actually speed progression of the cancer in certain individuals, but researchers report they may found a way to determine who those individuals are.

“We may have a test to predict whether a patient is susceptible to having their tumor progress if treated with erythropoietin and, alternatively, we may be able to predict patients it would be safe to treat with erythropoietin,” study author Dr. Tony Blau, of the University of Washington in Seattle, said during a Sunday news conference at the American Society of Clinical Oncology annual meeting in Chicago.
