More Rock Band Drums by Ion Audio

AS WRITTEN BY: CNET
We’re still enjoying Guitar Hero at my office but I would be willing to move the Wii to a more spacious location in order to accomodate this awesome new Ion Audio drumset for Rock Band.

Contrary to popular belief, San Francisco is not a great music town, at least not if you are a drummer and want to practice in your house. Unlike the east coast (and presumably elsewhere) where basements are plentiful, the bay area is lacking in-home practice areas.

Generally speaking electronic drums are not that satisfying, but bring some video games into the mix and I’m on board. During a trip to Japan I sat down at the full-size drum machine game and played along to Crazy Train. All the kids thought I ruled until I told them I actually knew how to play.

Clones, Dogs, Sex, Rape… what more could you want?

Ok, when I read this story a few days ago, I was encouraged that I could clone my dog. A bit pricey at 150K a pop, but now there is a medical answer for feeling depressed when a pet dies. Now, what is coming out of this story is FANTASTIC! Thanks to Time, and the Brits, we may have the story of the year!
——————–
It took a while to register, but there was something naggingly familiar about Bernann McKinney, the 57-year-old California woman whose ecstatically beaming features were splashed across the world’s media on Aug. 6. The story was already a corker: the five baby pitbull terriers McKinney was showing off had been cloned in Korea from the ear of her late and much-missed pet Booger, who’d once saved her from an attack by another dog that had practically ripped McKinney’s arm off.
Now the story could get even better. McKinney, if British newspaper suspicions prove true, may be none other than Joyce McKinney, the former Miss Wyoming who once fled Britain to escape charges of kidnapping a Mormon missionary and forcibly having sex with him.

Stright from Moron central… the shocking fact that collage students everywhere are the same. As a matter of fact, forced collage religion probly causes more sexual issues (duh).
——————————
Many American college students today make no connection between their involvement in the “hook-up culture” and their religious faith, a Boston University professor said Friday.
Many students divorce their sexual practices from religion because they believe religious teachings on sex are outdated, potentially even laughable, said Donna Freitas, author of “Sex and the Soul.”
“Yet some are not happy with the hookup culture and want it to stop dominating their lives.”
Freitas surveyed more than 2,500 students and conducted 130 one-on-one interviews in the spring of 2006 at seven different colleges and universities that included Catholic, Christian, private secular and public institutions.

RB2 Trophies Revealed

PSX Extreme
When it comes to music games, many hardcore fans simply want to prove how skilled they’ve become over the past few years. And when Rock Band 2 releases in October - with Trophies - for the PlayStation 3, there will be more incentive than ever to out-riff your buddies.

IGN has the complete list of Trophies for the hotly anticipated sequel, and they surround all game modes and target just about every area of skill and ability. You’ve got a long road ahead of you if you wish to secure the Platinum Trophy, so if you plan to make a go at it, we strongly suggest you clear your calendars for a few weeks and prepare for complete immersion in Rock Band 2. Anyway, it seems as if the drum trainer Trophies are indeed retroactive to a point, because if you “play at a high level it is possible to unlock more than one.” The only information we don’t have right now is which of the listed Trophies there are Bronze, Silver, or Gold, but it’s enough for now to have the detailed list, in our estimation. We do know it’s going to be tough to nab ‘em all, though; the likes of Flawless Fretwork (100% a song on Expert guitar), Million Point Club (get more than one million points in a song), and One Million Fans (reached one million fans in Band World Tour) could prove ultra-challenging.

But hey, that’s why we got these Trophies, right? It’s what many of us wanted all along, and now, you’re gonna have to work your tail off to get them in Rock Band 2. Good luck!

Greed: Warner Hates Rock Band and Music

title=I feel bad for Harmonix. I now get a taste of the bullshit CEO and co-founder Alex Rigopulos has to deal with. Read More. POSTED BY: SPONG.COM

Warner Music Group’s CEO, Edgar Bronfman, is not amused with games such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band. He’s so annoyed at the ‘paltry’ sums paid by companies such as Electronic Arts/MTV and Activision Blizzard to license tracks for their games that he is talking about not licensing any more.

WMG recently declared that its net losses were down from $17 million (£8.5) in the second quarter of last year to $9m (£4.5m) this year. It controls labels and connected artists such as Electra (The Doors, Joni Mitchell), Atlantic Records (Led Zeppelin, Bjork, Rush and Sugar Ray), Bad Boy Records (P. Diddy, Dream), Lava Records (Antigone Rising), Roadrunner Records (Sepultura, Nickelback, Killswitch Engage, Black Label Society), rykodisc (The Misfits), Rhino Records (Black Sabbath, The Monkees, Alice Cooper).
