Well, the time has come, and on release of Rock Band 2 this September, it looks like we will need to update the Wish List. Some heavy-hitters are finally making their debut to the show.
Rock Band 2
Start A Band, Rock The World!
Developed by Harmonix, the world’s premier music videogame company, and published by MTV Games, Rock Bandâ„¢ 2 is the next evolution of the groundbreaking music platform that forever changed the face of music videogames. Rock Band 2 builds upon the original, challenging players to put together a band and tour for fame and fortune while learning to master lead/bass guitar, drums and vocals, and raises the bar to include an entirely new level of depth, connectivity, authenticity and exhilarating features.
Rock Band 2 will feature more than 80 tracks on disc – but it doesn’t stop there. Players will have access to all DLC tracks, packs and albums released to date as well as future DLC releases; that’s more than 200 song choices and counting. The music in Rock Band 2 features all master recordings and spans all genres of rock from punk, metal and alternative to classic and southern rock.
Rock Band 2 will be released on Xbox 360™ videogame and entertainment system from Microsoft this September and will have an exclusive launch window in North America. Rock Band 2 will be available for the PLAYSTATION® 3 and PlayStation® 2 computer entertainment systems and Nintendo Wii™ system later this year.

This is a good second-hand view of what is happening behind the scenes at MTV/Electronic Arts. There still seems to be quite a bit missing from the Rock Band 2 release. I’m sure the manufacturers have to balance between user experience, and actual revenue. I am still anxious to see what new instruments will be with the release. Harmonica? Cowbell? Maraca?

Well… why do they hate us? Why do they bomb us? What headline could possibly describe why the entire plant sneers at Americans? This one. Can we PLEASE put away the Twinkies and KFC? Is it possible for us to stop concentrating corn in every edible form for our consumption? It seems like I have quite a few questions. My fear is they are all rhetorical. We are all going to Hell. ;(

Ok, this headline is not that shocking. What is shocking is the actual numbers given:
Young British women on holiday have sex at least THREE times a day, a survey has revealed… The research showed more than 80 per cent of women have sex with a “fellow holidaymaker  Another 35 per cent romped with a “localâ€, while 21 per cent had slept with a member of hotel staff… The poll also said 18 per cent had had sex with a tour rep and two per cent with a member of the airline crew.
Wow, I want to: A. Be British 2. Work in the tourism industry… holy crap!

The study of the effects of Mushrooms on the body and mind is back not only in the lives of users, but the labs of major universities and hospitals as well. These magical wonders are back for clinical testing and I have but one question. Where do I sign up?
The effects as I’ve seen have lasting impressions on thought. They may not still be chemically affecting me, but the jaw dropping and threshold pushing thoughts provoked by a mushroom trip are enough to change ones perception on life and all that it encompasses. More on perception later…
There’s been recent rumblings about what the final set list will be for Rock Band 2 but more interesting, is what else the game will provide right out of the box.
IGN reports (via Kotaku) that when gamers take home and open up their shiny new Rock Band 2 game this fall, you’ll be able to download the first game’s complete set list…for FREE. For fucks sake, do RB1 users get 2 for free?
Gamestop might just get a sudden influx of Rock Band discs as Activision will be relieving the slight inconvenience of disc-swapping. Rocking out will suffer no delays.

Wellington, New Zealand (AHN) — Parents watching a schoolboy rugby match Sunday were angry and appalled after hardcore pornography interrupted the scheduled programming.
The Prime Channel, a free broadcast station, was showing a Grass Roots Rugby show when they claim a distribution fault caused the “inappropriate material,” from a pay-per-view channel to be aired on the wrong station.
According to reports, for nearly four minutes, hardcore pornography, from the film Desperate Black Wives 2, was shown on televisions across the island nation.
In a report by New Zealand’s channel 3, parents said their children had seen the sex on screen, and one 12-year-old girl covered her eyes and ran out of the room saying “eww,” and “gross.” Another parent told reporters his 8-year-old son’s innocence was lost.
Shocked and outraged parents reportedly flooded the TV station with phone calls.
The Prime Channel has issued an apology to the public.
Harmonix started off this week with the enticing announcement that Rock Band is prepping up for an encore later on in the year and now the music gurus are ending it with a bang by announcing that Tuesday next week Rock Band will be getting two new tracks from Red Hot Chili Peppers and another duet of tracks from Rush.
Tuesday next week, Rock Band fans can look forward to the folowing new tracks (all masters):
- Red Hot Chili Peppers - Snow (Hey Oh)
- Red Hot Chili Peppers - Tell Me Baby
- Rush - Closer to the Heart
- Rush - Working Man (Vault Edition) alternate-take master (maybe not a “made famous by”)
All tracks will be made available for 160 Microsoft Points apiece. Anybody planning to enrich his/her Red Hot Chili Peppers or Rush collection with the aforementioned tunes?
