Alex Grey, the most prolific artist in the past 200 years, and psychedelic drugs leader from the 70’s, is suing fellow artist Juan Pablo Fernandez for reselling his artwork. This is an interesting event for Grey since he is fairly open about the use of his artwork, but has had enough of the reselling of his lifeswork online. In parallel, Grey’s artwork is used extensively by the band TOOL, who actually funds legal experts to quash it’s fans from using any of its art in any form.
Tweaky’s Opinion: 6 years between albums… stopping fans from collecting bootleg material. Hey boys, you need to feed the beast. As a long time TOOL fan, I refuse to be part of the TOOL ARMY fan club. Why? You must sign an agreement stating you will not share or posses bootleg or copywrited material. I refuse. I will, of sound mind, collect every piece of unauthorized or authorized material that quiets my inner burning for the art. I will not sell or distribute, but I will collect. Whew, I’ve said my piece.
